A cat on the run from a burning building in Chicago made a daring escape when she jumped from the fifth floor. The incredible footage captured by firefighters shows the cat touching the window before jumping down to the ground below.
Despite the long fall, the cat managed to land safely, bouncing once before escaping the scene. The cat was left with “only” eight lives after the incident.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said the cat went under his vehicle after the fall and stayed there until she regained consciousness. She then checked the wall for potential climbing spots before eventually making her escape.
While it’s unclear what caused the fire, Langford emphasized that no one was injured, including the cat. The footage of the cat’s incredible jump has since gone viral and has fascinated animal lovers around the world.
